The Road to 2014 Begins

President Autrey Sets Her Goals

The baton has been officially passed at the Fort Bend County Fair.  The Fort Bend County Fair Association held the President’s Reception honoring 2014 Fair President, Vickie Todd Autrey. Fellow board members, Lifetime directors, family, co-workers and friends were present as the night officially kicked off Autrey’s term.  Her 90-year-old father was on hand showing his support with a constant smile throughout the evening.

2013 President Brad Bowman kicked off the night with remarks reflecting on the success of last year’s fair.  Autrey’s comments soon followed with her laying out her vision for the 2014 fair, which included a continued priority of supporting educational efforts for our county’s youth.

Mark your calendars now for the 2014 Fort Bend County Fair that runs from September 26th through October 5th.

Crawfish Boil...
Are you ready for a Pinchin’ Good Time?

Crawfish season is just getting started, but circle April 4th, 2014 for the Fort Bend County Fair’s Crawfish Boil & Fish Fry. It is promised to be a spicy good time!

Fishin' for the Fair...

The Fort Bend County Fair Association will be hosting a fishing tournament in Matagorda on May 17th. The details of the event are being finalized, but the tournament will benefit the Fair’s efforts in providing scholarships to deserving youth of the county. “We have always wanted to hold an event outside of our Fair’s run and this seemed like the perfect opportunity,” says Susan Sillavan, Fair Manager. “Our board continues to look for ways to help bring awareness to our fair and what it stands for.”

The tournament is being held on Matagorda Bay. Anglers will be in search of Red Fish, Trout & Flouder.  Stay connected, as we will be releasing more details!
